Experience:
Guido Zeppenfeld heads Mayer Brown's German Human Resources practice and co-heads the firm's German Business Technology Sourcing practice. In the course of his work, he advises and represents client organizations in connection with their HR management matters, restructuring measures, and outsourcing projects. In particular, Guido focuses on the following:
Employment Law. Individual and collective employment law; industrial relations law; works constitution law; advice on employment law matters relating to M&A and PE transactions; employee co-determination; service agreements with managers; employee data protection; compliance policies and codes of conduct.
Restructuring/Insolvency. Planning and implementation in respect of the restructuring and/or the integration of business operations, HR-transformation, Shared Service Centers, shut-down of businesses, mass layoffs; HR matters in relation to insolvency proceedings.
Outsourcing. Planning and implementation of BPO transactions (in particular, HR Transformation/Human Resources Outsourcing, Facility Management and Logistics Outsourcing), as well as ITOs; representation in outsourcing contract negotiations.
Pensions. Design and restructuring of occupational pension schemes and trust arrangements (CTAs); outsourcing of pension liabilities; legal analysis of occupational pension schemes in connection with corporate transactions; and advice on design and implementation of external pension products. Guido is acknowledged as one of Germany's leading authorities for occupational pension arrangements in the JUVE-Handbook 2007.
Executive Compensation/Benefits. Domestic and international employee share and incentive schemes; and domestic and international stock option plans.
Guido joined the Frankfurt office of Mayer Brown in 2000 and was named partner in 2003. He was appointed head of Mayer Brown's German Human Resources practice in 2004. Previously (1997-2000), Guido held a position with another prominent law firm in Frankfurt am Main. Guido is a native German speaker and is also highly conversant in English.
