Mr. Curran currently serves as the Chairman of the Firm's Corporate, Securities and Tax Practice Group. Mr. Curran's practice focuses on the following primary areas:Mergers and Acquisitions- Mr. Curran handles a variety of M&A transactions for both private and public companies.Private Equity and Venture Capital- Mr. Curran regularly represents venture capital and private equity investors, as well as early stage and growth stage companies, in connection with a variety of venture capital, private equity, CAPCO and other similar financing transactions.Private Investment Fund Formation- Mr. Curran's practice includes the formation of private equity and venture capital funds, hedge funds and fund of funds, real estate investment funds and advising fund managers and investment advisors on all matters relating to the regulation and investment activities thereof.General Counsel Services- Mr. Curran represents a variety of private and public companies for which he provides general legal and strategic business advice, including matters of corporate governance, dispute resolution, crisis management, strategic planning and communications.Securities Offering- Mr. Curran represents both public and private companies in connection with public offerings of debt and equity securities. Mr. Curran has handled numerous public offerings, including IPOs, and private placement transactions from early and growth stage companies.Mr. Curran serves on the firm's Executive Committee. He is also serving as President of the Birmingham Venture Club for 2008.
