Mr. Rogers is a partner in the Labor and Employment Department at Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP in Cincinnati, Ohio. Mr. Rogers came to Taft in 1989 after graduating with distinction from Emory University School of Law, where he was an editor of the Emory Law Journal and earned membership in the Order of the Coif. He represents private and public employers in all aspects of labor and employment law. Mr. Rogers is widely experienced in federal and state court litigation, including jury and bench trials, in all facets of employment law such as class actions, employment discrimination matters, ERISA claims for breach of fiduciary duty, ERISA claims for pension and insurance benefits, wrongful termination claims, whistleblower actions, and suits based on non-competition agreements. He is similarly experienced in labor matters such as union elections, contract negotiations, lockouts and strikes, and has tried more than 100 cases in arbitration. Mr. Rogers is also experienced in administrative proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission and the various other federal, state and local agencies in the field. He is an Ohio State Bar Association Board Certified Specialist in Labor and Employment Law and is a member of the American Employment Law Council, an organization of senior management side labor and employment lawyers. He also is a member of the American Bar Association's committees on Employee Rights and Responsibilities and Employee Benefits. Mr. Rogers is a chapter editor of the upcoming fourth edition of the BNA's treatise on Employment Discrimination Law, and he is a contributor to the sixth edition of the seminal treatise How Arbitration Works. Mr. Rogers has been selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America since 2003, he has been named an Ohio Super Lawyer by Law & Politics magazine since 2004, and he has been recognized by Chambers USA : America's Leading Lawyers for Business, since 2007. |
