Gregory P. Range is a managing director and head of the Los Angeles office of Duff & Phelps, LLC. Mr. Range advises owners of private companies, boards of directors of public companies, charitable foundations, trusts and other professionals on issues ranging from acquisition and divestiture planning to estate planning and obtaining liquidity for closely held business owners. Additionally, Mr. Range has extensive experience in structuring, advising and arranging financing for leveraged ESOP transactions and authored a chapter entitled ìAdvanced Valuation Issues in ESOP LBOsî in Employee Stock Ownership Plans. Prior to joining Duff & Phelps, Mr. Range was a senior vice president with Houlihan, Lokey, Howard & Zukin, having spent seven years with that firm. Mr. Range speaks frequently to groups and professional organizations on a variety of topics including valuation issues for high yield investors, valuation of highly leveraged companies, and fairness concerns in ESOP transactions. He also regularly provides continuing education instruction on related topics to attorneys and CPAs. Mr. Range received a B.A. in economics from Stanford University in 1981 and an M.B.A. in finance from the University of California, Los Angeles, in 1983.
