Gregory Hanson joined the Company in July 1998. Before joining the AVANIR management team, he was the Chief Financial Officer for XXsys Technologies, Inc., a publicly-traded company focused on the commercialization of advanced composite technologies. Prior to his position at XXsys, he served as a management consultant to The Titan Corporation, subsequently acquired by L-3 Communications (NYSE:LLL), where he was responsible for the business development plan to form a wholly-owned subsidiary engaged in the commercialization of defense technologies. Following its formation, he continued to work for the subsidiary’s president as acting Chief Financial Officer and performed other duties that were instrumental in moving the company through an orderly transition to a sustainable organization.
He has been the Chief Financial Officer for Onsite Energy and Catrel USA and for three years was the Treasurer for two Caterpillar Inc. subsidiaries. Between 1976 and 1985, he held a number of management positions with the Ford Motor Company.
Gregory Hanson received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Kansas State University in 1969 and an M.B.A. in Finance from the University of Michigan in 1976, graduating with honors and ranking first in his class. He is a Certified Management Accountant and has passed the examination for Certified Public Accountants. He has been a member of the Financial Accounting Standards Board's Small Business Advisory Committee ("SBAC") since April 2004 and serves on the SBAC's Agenda Committee. |
