Mr. Gregory Brorby is a Senior Managing Scientist in Exponent's Health Sciences practice. He is a board-certified toxicologist with more than 19 years of experience in the fields of toxicology and health risk assessment. He specializes in integrating risk assessment into an overall risk management approach to site investigation and remediation. He has conducted or supervised numerous projects that were successfully completed in compliance with risk assessment methodologies prescribed in CERCLA RCRA and other guidance specified by state or federal agencies (e.g. California EPA's Preliminary Endangerment Assessment ASTM's Risk-Based Corrective Action Standard for Petroleum Release Sites). He has also conducted numerous risk assessments addressing product liability and had directed or participated in studies to reconstruct historical exposures in occupational settings and from the use of consumer products. These projects have involved a wide variety of chemicals [asbestos; metals (e.g. arsenic lead and mercury) VOCs (e.g. PCE TCE vinyl chloride) SVOCs pesticides/PCBs PCDDs and PCDFs petroleum hydrocarbons] and radionuclides (e.g. plutonium uranium iodine and thorium isotopes) ; environmental media (air soil groundwater surface water sediment plant material biota); and exposure scenarios (residential commercial/industrial recreational). Mr. Brorby played an instrumental role in the dose reconstruction projects at Rocky Flats and the Oak Ridge Reservation and in the Environmental Restoration Project at the Los Alamos National Laboratory. In this capacity he worked closely with advisory panels and steering committees to develop risk assessment strategies and communicate complicated technical information to a non-technical audience. |
