Gregg is the senior tax partner in the Brownsville office of Burton McCumber & Cortez, L.L.P. and serves as the firm’s managing partner. He graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in 1974 and received his Certified Public Accountant certificate in 1977.
EXPERIENCE
Prior to joining Grant Thornton in 1981, Gregg worked in Houston for both Price Waterhouse and Brown & Root, primarily focusing in the area of international taxation. While with Grant Thornton, Gregg was the partner in charge of the tax department in the Brownsville and McAllen offices of the firm, now Burton McCumber & Cortez, L.L.P.
Gregg has experience in all areas of taxation and serves as the tax account administrator for a large number of major clients within the Brownsville and McAllen offices of Burton McCumber & Cortez, L.L.P. He serves as tax department head for both offices and as the firm liaison partner to the international partners in Mexico with specific overall responsibility for the Matamoros and Reynosa offices of BMC y Fragoso S.C. He specializes in international taxation, maquiladoras and banking taxation and is considered to be the firm’s specialist in matters relating to the maquiladora industry.
