Gregg Lapointe joined Sigma-Tau Pharmaceuticals, Inc. in September 2001 as Vice President of Finance. In August 2002, he became Vice President of Operations, and in November 2003, he was elected Chief Operating Officer. Before joining Sigma-Tau, Lapointe was Vice President of Operations and Vice President, Controller of AstenJohnson, Inc, (formerly JWI Inc.). Prior to AstenJohnson, Lapointe spent 5 years in the Canadian medical products industry in a variety of roles, including Vice President and General Manager of a large medical products distributor and Chief Financial Officer of a medical products manufacturer. Lapointe began his career with PriceWaterhouseCoopers. Lapointe's background includes extensive experience in the areas of global strategic planning and implementation, business development, corporate finance, and acquisitions. Lapointe holds a BA in commerce from Concordia University in Montreal, Canada, a graduate diploma in accountancy from McGill University in Montreal, Canada, and an MBA from Duke University The Fuqua School of Business in Durham, North Carolina. He is a certified public accountant (Illinois) and a chartered accountant (Canada). Lapointe is a member of the Board of Directors of Questcor Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a member of the PhRMA Board of Directors representing the PhRMA International Affiliates, and he is a member of the Corporate Council of the National Organization for Rare Diseases (NORD). Lapointe resides with his wife Katherine in Gaithersburg, Maryland. |
