Mr. Hersly has analyzed and executed both public and private transactions as well as advised companies on matters relating to financing, mergers and acquisitions, and general business development. Prior to Epic Partners, Mr. Hersly was an Associate at U.S. Technologies, a private equity firm based in Washington, D.C, where he monitored and supported a number of portfolio companies, analyzed investment opportunities and negotiated investments. Previously, Mr. Hersly was an Associate at Yazam, a venture capital firm that was acquired by U.S. Technologies in April 2001. Yazam's investors included Texas Pacific Group, The Carlyle Group, Apax Partners, among others. Mr. Hersly worked in the Mergers and Acquisitions Group and the Corporate Strategy Group at Salomon Smith Barney. While in Mergers and Acquisitions, he was staffed on transactions as a generalist and gained significant exposure to telecommunications, technology, information services, healthcare and industrial transactions. His deal experience includes Bell Atlantic's minority investment in the Metromedia Fiber Network and the mandatory Bell Atlantic/GTE Wireless asset divestiture required to form Verizon Wireless. Mr. Hersly was also part of the Corporate Strategy Group in which he worked on the acquisition of Schroders plc by Salomon Smith Barney. Mr. Hersly is a Director of Helma Institute, an Epic Partner's portfolio company in the for-profit postsecondary education sector. Mr. Hersly is a Director and Co-Founder of the New York Private Equity Network, a forum for private equity professionals in the New York metropolitan area with more than 500 active members representing over 300 local private equity firms. Mr. Hersly received a BS in Economics and Business Management from Cornell University. |
