Greg Brann is a managing director in FTI’s Corporate Finance practice and is based in Denver. Mr. Brann has more than 11 years of experience in financial advisory services and has managed numerous engagements on behalf of companies, investors, boards of directors, senior lenders, attorneys and private equity firms. Mr. Brann specializes in providing transactional and operational related services primarily in the telecommunications industry, and advising clients on acquisitions, divestitures, troubled company restructurings, as well as strategic and operational issues.
Mr. Brann’s transaction related experience includes various aspects of buy-side and sell-side services for clients, including target identification, information preparation, formulation of transaction structure, financial and operational due diligence, business valuation, identification of financial synergies, and negotiation of letters of intent and/or purchase agreements. Post transaction, Mr. Brann advises clients on merger integration planning and effectuation, including running the program management office and leading cross-company integration teams.
In addition, Mr. Brann’s operation and strategy related experience includes advising clients on short- and long-term strategies to improve profitability and increase value. His work focuses on the detailed assessment of current operational and financial performance, as well as the future strategy and financial models of companies in the business of local exchange, long distance, internet connectivity and wholesale transport, among others.
Mr. Brann advises troubled companies or other stakeholders, such as secured lenders throughout the restructuring process. He has led and managed a wide range of cases for clients in both bankruptcy proceedings and out-of-court restructurings. His work includes advice on deal and plan structure, development of reorganization plans, financial analysis, and assistance in negotiations with various stakeholders. Mr. Brann has worked on multiple debt and balance sheet restructurings, ranging from $50 million to more than $1 billion in secured debt into debt and equity securities.
Some of Mr. Brann’s representative clients include secured lending groups led by agents, such as GECC, Bank of America, JP Morgan and Wachovia; debt and equity investors, such as Cerberus, Strategic Value Partners and Bondstreet; and companies such as Allegiance Telecom (now XO Communications), Choice One Communications, AT&T Wireless, Conversant, Broadwing, FDN Communications, Birch Telecom, Global Crossing, Level(3), and PacWest Telecom.
Prior to joining FTI, Mr. Brann worked in investment banking, where he prepared financial models and provided IPO support. As an industrial engineer, he worked with multifunctional teams to design products for profitability.
Mr. Brann holds an M.B.A. with Beta Gamma Sigma honors from the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business and a B.S. in industrial engineering from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. He is a certified insolvency and restructuring advisor and certified in production and inventory management. Mr. Brann is a member of the Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors and the Turnaround Management Association. |
