Mr. Thompson was most recently the General Manager of PPG Industries' South American coatings business. In that role he managed the establishment of PPG's coatings operations in South America with responsibility for the creation of a complete local infrastructure. Prior to that, Mr. Thompson was the Director of Corporate Development for PPG where he guided Business Units through the strategic planning process with a focus on growth through acquisition. In this role, he identified, evaluated and effected acquisitions that brought strategic improvement to the business units. Mr. Thompson also worked for ICI, PLC, a U.K. based, global manufacturer of coatings and chemicals where he held a number of strategic planning, marketing and technical positions. Mr. Thompson has a Bachelor of Science, Chemistry from Westminster College and has completed course work for a Master of Polymer Science at Carnegie Mellon University. |
