Dr. Glen O. Toney, Board Member Dr Glen Toney serves on the Board of Trustees of the California State University System. Before that, Dr. Toney held the position of Group Vice President of Corporate Affairs at Applied Materials. In a prior role, he served as the Group Vice President of Human Resources and Corporate Affairs. Dr. Toney has worked at Applied Materials since 1979. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Applied Materials Foundation and represents the company on the Board of Directors of the Applied Materials-Shanghai Research and Development Fund. He formed and served as President of Applied Global University. Prior to employment with Applied Materials, Dr. Toney held several positions in education and business industries. He worked as the Assistant Superintendent of Schools for the Palo Alto Unified School District, Assistant Superintendent of Schools for the Ravenswood City School District, and a Mathematician and Systems Analyst for Lockheed Missile and Space. Dr. Toney also served as Chairman of the Board of the 21st Century Education Initiative, part of the Joint Venture: Silicon Valley (JVSV) Network. He is on the Board of Trustees of the Robert Noyce Foundation, an educational foundation established by the Noyce Family in honor of Robert Noyce, the co-founder of Intel Corporation. In addition, he serves on the Advisory Board of School of Engineering and Science at California State University, Chico, and is also on the board of directors at Andrew Corporation (ANDW). Dr. Toney has two undergraduate degrees, a B.A. in Philosophy from California State University at Chico, and a B.S. with honors in Mathematics from San Jose State University. He received his M.A. in Instructional Technology from San Jose State University, and earned his Doctorate in Organizational Behavior from the University of Southern California. |
