Gina Gutzeit is a senior managing director with FTI Palladium Partners and is based in New York. Ms. Gutzeit has more than 20 years of experience in operational and financial restructuring, transitional management, bankruptcy proceedings, and litigation services. Her industry experience includes service providers, healthcare, transportation, financial services, telecommunications, retail, distributors, manufacturers, securities and commodities, hospitality, restaurants, proprietary schools, shipping, construction, mining and real estate. During her tenure, Ms. Gutzeit has served as interim chief financial officer for a global management and technology consulting company where she worked collaboratively with senior management as well as the board of directors on the financial restructuring and operational improvements of the company and assessed viable alternatives. She has served as financial advisor to numerous companies experiencing financial and operational changes and advised on all aspects of financial restructurings, cash flow management and revenue enhancement programs as well as providing assistance in preparing financial projections, preparing subsidiaries for disposition negotiations with lenders and creditors, assessing divestiture and consolidation scenarios and related financial impact. She has assisted numerous debtors in Chapter 11 in creating and implementing procedures for preparation of financial data and claims analysis for the bankruptcy court and the unsecured creditors committees. Some of her clients include U.S. Airways, Vencor Healthcare, Long John Silver’s Restaurants, Drexel Burnham Lambert and The Daily News. Ms. Gutzeit has performed analyses of financial conditions of troubled companies on behalf of lender groups including analysis of cash flow projections, collateral position and business plans; preparation of reports and recommendations; and participation in restructuring negotiations. She has assisted several unsecured creditors committees in analyzing debtors’ operating results, reconstructing historical financial data, preparing liquidation analyses, determining the feasibility of and preparing alternative business plans, and reporting on the findings and conclusions. She has assisted court appointed trustees in Chapter 7 proceedings in analyzing and reconstructing financial information, preferential payments, fraudulent conveyance, negotiating contracts, examining claims, expert testimony and investigating for hidden assets. Ms. Gutzeit has provided expert accounting assistance in several litigation matters including reconstruction and analysis of cash receipts, cash disbursements and other financial and non-financial information to determine losses and damages, and preparation for discovery hearings and depositions. She was appointed as examiner by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in the Southern District of New York and has worked with the FBI on special investigations of companies suspected of embezzling and defrauding lenders. Ms. Gutzeit holds a B.B.A. in public accounting from Pace University. She is a certified public accountant in New York, a certified insolvency and restructuring advisor and a certified fraud examiner. She also served on the board of the New York chapter of the International Women’s Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation. |
