Gillian Cassell-Stiga is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania where she received a B.S. at the Wharton School and completed a concentration in Business and Public Policy. At Wharton, she performed development policy research including an examination of tax-based waterfront development in Camden and a paper analyzing Empowerment Zones. She also held an internship at the US Attorney’s Office in Newark, NJ and later studied Flemish art and culture for a semester in Leuven, Belgium. She further complimented her interest in development by volunteering with local anti-poverty organizations and served as chair of the student-led committee governing community service and advocacy at Penn. Upon graduation Gillian was awarded with the Dean’s Award for Service to Penn and the Philadelphia Community. She then spent her first post-graduate year in Peru running a small non-profit which provided educational opportunities to under-resourced mountain communities.
Gillian enjoys early morning runs, live jazz, film, and cheese. She also hopes to expand her travels in South America. |
