Gil Bernhard, CPA, is a Partner in Goldstein Golub Kessler LLP. With over fifteen years of experience in Public Accounting, Mr. Bernhard has developed an expertise in Government Auditing Standards and OMB Circular A-133. In addition, Mr. Bernhard specializes in healthcare financial management and reimbursement issues. Mr. Bernhard's clients include community health centers, residential drug treatment programs, housing programs for the homeless, AIDS/HIV programs, prepaid health service plans, healthcare trade associations and other not-for-profit corporations. Mr. Bernhard also consults on general ledger accounting software systems and internal controls for health centers and other not-for-profit corporations. As part of his financial management services for healthcare clients, Mr. Bernhard supervises and reviews the preparation of specialized cost reports specific to ambulatory care facilities reimbursement, and client financial reports required for filing with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (i.e., UDS, FSR) and other government agencies. Mr. Bernhard also monitors healthcare legislation and develops constructive suggestions to enhance clients' operating efficiencies under these laws. Mr. Bernhard is a frequent lecturer for the National Association of Community Health Centers and for various state primary care associations on the issue of healthcare finance and reporting requirements for community health centers. He sits on the education and not-for-profit committees of the firm, and coordinates the in-house continuing education program for the Healthcare Services Group. Mr. Bernhard sits on the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants' Healthcare Institutions Committee, and he is a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association.Mr. Bernhard received his B.A. in business administration with a concentration in accounting from the University of Maine. |
