Jerry Gray has held key positions in operations, information technology and logistics as a member of the first start-up semiconductor company based in Austin. As vice president of Worldwide Operations, Mr. Gray oversees the manufacturing, planning, logistics, product engineering and purchasing functions for the company.
Mr. Gray physically shipped the first product at Crystal on May 7, 1986, and has been instrumental in the development of the company's operational infrastructure, which now ships hundreds of millions of products on a worldwide basis each year. Mr. Gray led the ISO 9002 effort, which was successfully implemented in 1998.
A veteran with more than 20 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, Mr. Gray came to Cirrus Logic from Harris Semiconductor, where he had served as manager of Offshore Operations from 1980 to 1986. During his tenure at Harris, he was instrumental in reducing the company's costs and manufacturing cycle time for its offshore operations. Mr. Gray was selected to lead the company's computer aided manufacturing (CAM) team, which was successfully installed in 1985.
Before joining Harris Semiconductor, Mr. Gray held key management positions with Digital Equipment Corporation in both Arizona and Massachusetts.
