Gerry Loughman is senior vice president of Development for Edison Mission Group (EMG) with responsibility for the development and implementation of EMG’s growth strategy including greenfield development and acquisition of both thermal and renewable projects throughout the United States. Under Loughman’s leadership, EMG has become one of the nation’s leading developers of wind energy projects, with 17 projects and more than 700 megawatts of wind capacity in operation or under construction as of May 2007, and up to 2,600 additional megawatts in the company’s development pipeline.
Loughman joined EMG in 1991 and held various regional development positions, including regional vice president for Development in EMG’s Asia region and vice president, Development for the Americas region. Beginning in 2003, he spent two years at EMG affiliate Southern California Edison (SCE), one of the largest investor-owned utilities in the nation. As director, Business Development at SCE, Gerry successfully oversaw the development of the Mountain View Power project, bringing 1,054 MW of power on-line to serve over 685,000 homes in Southern California.
Following the divestiture of EMG’s international assets and a corporate restructuring, Gerry rejoined EMG in 2005 and now oversees all development efforts for the EMG companies. |
