Lenrow is in private practice providing consultation services to certain members of the insurance industry. He is a former consultant to General Reinsurance Corporation and partner in the international accounting firm of PriceWaterhouseCoopers L.L.P. He also monitors legislative activities and developments emanating from the IRS national office regarding the insurance industry. Well known as an authority on insurance taxation, he handles disputes through the IRS administrative appeals procedures, and he has worked with congressional tax-writing committees, the Treasury and the IRS regarding tax legislation.
Over the years, Lenrow has addressed industry associations, has spoken at the Hartford Institute on Taxation Programs and has been a regular participant in the Federal Bar Insurance tax programs. For many years, he was the tax columnist for Best's Review, and his articles appeared regularly in both Life/Health and Property/Casualty editions. He is co-author of the book Federal Income Taxation of Insurance Companies and co-authored the PIA monograph Continuing Developments in the Taxation of Insurance Companies for more than 10 years.
Lenrow is past chair of the American Bar Association's Tort & Insurance Practice Section (TIPS) Committee on the taxation of insurance companies. He is also on the advisory board for The Insurance Tax Review. He received his J.D. degree from Fordham University and he is a member of the American and New York bar associations.
