A consultant for Noel-Levitz, Georgeanne Porter offers a strong background in higher education leadership. Ms. Porter served as the director of admissions at the University of Missouri-Columbia for 25 years. Her areas of expertise include enrollment management, admissions, recruitment, minority recruitment, and staff development.
Ms. Porter’s accomplishments at the University of Missouri-Columbia include a consistent increase in the quality of entering freshman classes, as average ACT scores have risen four points, from 22 to 26. Ms. Porter also tripled African-American enrollment after implementing specific minority recruitment programs. In the fall of 2000, Ms. Porter enrolled the largest, most diverse, and most academically talented group of freshmen ever seen at the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Associations, publications, and education: With a background in English, Ms. Porter has been an instructor of intensive English as well as English as a foreign language. She has offered her time and talents to several organizations, such as the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO), the Asheville Admissions Institute, and the American College Testing Program (ACT) State Council.
Ms. Porter has also published articles, essays, and a book, as well as given several presentations on new strategies in admissions and enrollment management. She has an M.A. from the University of Missouri-Columbia. |
