George Macon’s responsibilities with Merrifield Partners include land and vertical development for numerous office, medical, and mixed-use projects in the Charlotte area. George sources and structures new development ventures; coordinates and manages financial feasibility, rezoning/ subdivision, marketing/promotion for his projects; and interfaces with various government and regulatory agencies.George’s responsibilities include selecting and managing project teams including planners, engineers, surveyors, architects, and contractors. George’s major projects include Blakeney (30-acre medical/professional office park), Bryant Park (40-acre mixed use urban infill development), SteeleCroft Office (8-ace office/retail development), Hunters Crossing (12-acre mixed use development), Jetton Medical (50,000 square foot medical office facility), and Southpoint Village (5-acre mixed use neighborhood center).George joined Merrifield Partners in August 2001. He had previously worked with the Duke Realty Corporation (DRE), a $5 billion market capitalization office industrial REIT headquartered in Indianapolis. His responsibilities included financial analysis, leasing, and asset management. Earlier George had been a project manager and sales representative for a regional environmental consulting firm headquartered in Charlotte.George received a B.A. in Geology Environmental Studies from Washington and Lee University in 1993 and a M.B.A. with a concentration in finance from Vanderbilt University in 1999. He is a licensed real estate broker in North Carolina and has been member of the Charlotte Region Commercial Board of Realtors Multi Million Dollar Club for 3 consecutive years. |
