George Irving vice president business support services is responsible for all strategic and operational initiatives involving oversight and management of the organization's shared services team which includes billing control services real estate associate and agent services supply chain services and standard reporting. Having joined U.S. Cellular in October 2003 Irving utilizes his 20 years of executive leadership experience in the financial services and business arena to direct and lead a team of nearly 175 associates.
Irving's team is focused on driving operational excellence by supporting their internal clients through back office support processes and infrastructure. This focus enhances the capability of all associates to deliver exceptional results to its customers. Irving does this by establishing and communicating measurable goals and service level agreements while empowering associates and celebrating their success.
Prior to joining U.S. Cellular he served as director financial services-global business services for AlliedSignal/Honeywell. Irving received a bachelor of science degree in accounting from St. John's University in New York and an MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey. He is a member of The Conference Board Conference Board Shares Services Council the Shared Services and Business Process Outsourcing Association (SBPOA) and the Shared Services and Outsourcing Network. Irving has been the keynote speaker at several conferences including the Shared Services Week 2003 Global Conference and the U.S. Department of State Management Speakers Series.
