eorge is a native of Clarksdale, Mississippi, where he graduated from Lee Academy, then attended Mississippi State University and earned Bachelor of Business Administration Degrees in Finance and Insurance with emphasis in Accounting. While at Mississippi State, George was a President’s and Dean’s Scholar, a student representative of the financial aid appeals committee, Vice President and Treasurer of the Financial Management Association and a member of Sigma Chi fraternity. George continued his education at Millsaps College where he earned a Master of Accounting degree and was honored as a member of Beta Alpha Psi Accounting Honorary Society. As a partner with GranthamPoole, George’s practice is in the areas of individual and business taxation, personal financial planning, strategic planning and business start-ups. His specific areas of expertise include medical practices, construction contractors, real estate, and small businesses. George has recently assisted in the development of the firm’s new medical services division. The division has launched new technology and analytical services that assist medical practices in managing their business by targeting revenue opportunities, cost management and coding compliance. George is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Mississippi Society of CPAs and Central Mississippi Chapter of CPAs. He is married to Leigh B. Butler and they have two children, Kathryn Rae and Matthew Brent. The Butlers are member of Christ United Methodist Church.
