Lieutenant General Christmas retired from active duty in the U.S. Marine Corps in September 1996
after an exemplary and highly decorated military career. He was born on March 11, 1940 in Philadelphia, PA.
Christmas graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1962, with a BA degree in history and also holds an MS degree from Shippensburg University. Prior to retirement, he was assigned as the Deputy Chief of Staff of Manpower and Reserve Affairs, a position responsible for all aspects of human resource management, including planning, budgeting, policy and programs for an organization of 234,000 military and civilian men and women with an operating budget of $5.8 billion. He currently serves as president of the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation. |
