George J. Bullwinkel, Jr., 57, earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Clemson University in 1970 and has been with the company for 35 years. He began his career with South Carolina Electric & Gas Company as
a junior engineer in Charleston’s gas division in 1971. Since then he has held several senior management positions for the Company, including vice president customer operations, senior vice president production & power delivery SBU, senior vice president of retail electric, senior vice president of governmental affairs and economic development, president of S.C. Pipeline Corporation and president of SCG Pipeline. Bullwinkel currently serves as president and chief operating officer of SCANA Energy Marketing, Inc., SCANA Energy-Georgia, SCANA Communications, Inc. and ServiceCare, Inc. He is also responsible for senior executive oversight of PSNC Energy and SCE&G Power Marketing. Bullwinkel is presently a member of the S. C. Manufacturers Alliance Board of Directors; the March of Dimes of the Midlands Board ofDirectors; Chairman of the Central SC Alliance; member of the Clemson University Foundation Board and the Southeastern Wildlife Exposition, Inc. Bullwinkel is past president of the Hibernian Society of Charleston; past president of the Junior Achievement of Greater Charleston; past chairman of the United Way of South Carolina; past president of the Trident United Way; past president of the Charleston Trident Development Board; past president of the College of Charleston Foundation and past member of the Clemson University Research Foundation, S. C. Independent Colleges & Universities; City Center Partnership and Clemson Advisory Board. |
