George G. Beasley founded the Company in 1961. Throughout his forty-year radio broadcasting career Mr. Beasley has received numerous broadcast industry distinctions as well as recognition from various civic and charitable organizations.
Most notably Mr. Beasley served the North Carolina Association of Broadcasters (NCAB) for eight years as President Vice President and member of the Board of Directors. Mr. Beasley was honored with the NCAB's Association's Distinguished Service Award in 1996 and was inducted into NCAB's Hall of Fame in 1998 upon receiving the prestigious Distinguished Broadcaster of North Carolina Award. Additionally he is a former task force member of the National Association of Broadcasters. In 2003 the Broadcasters' Foundation bestowed upon Mr. Beasley their prestigious Broadcast Pioneer Award.
Mr. Beasley earned a B.A. and M.A. from Appalachian State University and was recognized in 1990 as one of Appalachian State University's Distinguished Alumni. He currently serves the University as both past chairman of the Appalachian State University Foundation Board of Directors and a member of the Appalachian State University Board of Trustees. |
