Mr. Ogilvie is the Managing Partner of the firm's Las Vegas office. Practicing primarily in complex commercial litigation and construction litigation, he is a member of the firm's Litigation Department and Construction Law Group, and regularly appears before the state and federal bench in Nevada. Mr. Ogilvie also frequently appears before various municipal boards and governmental agencies in Southern Nevada.
Recognized among Nevada’s Legal Elite by the Nevada Business Journal and named in the Best Lawyers in America and among America’s Leading Litigation Attorneys, Mr. Ogilvie is recognized for his skills in the courtroom in both the commercial and construction disciplines. He has first-chaired dozens of jury trials and presented several oral arguments before the Nevada Supreme Court.
The clients Mr. Ogilvie represents include publicly-traded, multinational corporations, national and regional construction companies and medium-sized to large local businesses. In commercial litigation, Mr. Ogilvie has substantial experience in lending, collateralization and insurance coverage disputes. In construction, his work has primarily involved public works projects, bonding and lien issues. Victories include the defense of a class action suit against a major Internet provider and the defense of a multi-million dollar public works contract awarded to a construction client.
A native Las Vegan and fifth generation Nevadan, Mr. Ogilvie has been and remains very involved in the Las Vegas community, including his current service on the Colorado River Commission. The Colorado River Commission acquires, manages and protects Nevada’s water and hydroelectric power resources from the Colorado River. Mr. Ogilvie is also a member of the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce’s Government Affairs Committee.
