AREAS OF PRACTICE Family Law Litigation - General George became in-house counsel with Liberty Mutual Insurance Company, doing personal injury defense work, and in 1974 became house counsel for American General Fire and Casualty (Maryland Casualty) in the east Texas and south Texas areas. George tried personal injury defense cases until 1978, when he joined Dow, Cogburn & Friedman, P.C. He joined Looper Reed & McGraw on August 1, 2001, when Dow, Cogburn & Friedman merged with another firm. George practices in the areas of family law, plaintiff's personal injury, civil trial litigation, and mediation. He has completed all required mediation training and received a certificate from the Attorney-Mediators Institute in January, 1995, and is a member of the Texas Association of Mediators. He completed Advanced Mediation Symposium by the ABA Dispute Resolution Committee in January of 1997, and is involved in family law, civil trial, personal injury, FELA and railroad crossing mediation. He has been in the first and second annual listing of the top attorneys in Texas presented in Texas Monthly magazine (2003 and 2004).
