George A. Russell Jr. is Executive Vice President and Director of Community Affairs for State Street Corporation. He has 30 years of experience in banking and finance, beginning his career at State Street Bank & Trust Company in Boston. He is a trained credit analyst and loan officer who has worked with small and middle market companies as well as Fortune 500 corporations. Mr. Russell has also served as Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer of the City of Boston, and President and CEO of Freedom National Bank of New York. In addition to managing State Street's community affairs division, Mr. Russell is the director of the State Street Foundation. He is past chairman of the board for both the Urban League of Eastern Massachusetts and the Financial Services Academy, and currently serves on the board of advisors to the African Presidential Archives and Research Center at Boston University. Mr. Russell is a graduate of Clark University and received his MBA in finance from New York University's Stern School of Business. |
