Dr. Phelps is CRA’s Director of Software Engineering and leads the design and development of CRA’s internal and external software projects. His 22 years of experience covers commercial software development and university and industrial research. His team of software engineers works closely with CRA economists, consultants, and clients to deliver effective, state of the art solutions across a wide range of expertise areas. Dr. Phelps has been involved in projects in many industries, including telecommunications, high-tech, energy, pharmaceuticals, financial trading, investment banking, and transportation.
Recent projects for CRA include a Securities Litigation ToolkitSM for class action analysis support, a Merger Effects SimulatorSM, an advanced state tax policy micro simulator, the design and implementation of internet-based auction systems for the telecommunications and electric utility industries, and a survey system to support discrete choice model-based surveys.
Dr. Phelps has led or directed more than 65 software projects in Europe, Asia, and North America. He has extensive experience in mathematical modeling and numerical simulation. He has developed or led teams in the development of financial modeling, derivative trading and real-time stock market analysis software. Dr. Phelps has also been active in the development of Web-based collaboration portals, knowledge management systems, business process improvement software, and agent-based systems. In addition, he has experience in petroleum reservoir engineering, well logging, well testing, and groundwater drainage software and analysis. |
