Mrs. Wilson joined Gilead's board in October 2001 and serves as the chair of the company's Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee. She also serves on the company's Scientific Committee. Wife of former Governor Pete Wilson, Mrs. Wilson served as California's First Lady from 1991-1999. Mrs. Wilson is a director of the College Access Foundation of California and the Ralph M. Parsons Foundation, a nonprofit organization providing grants primarily in the areas of higher education, social impact, civic and cultural issues, and health. She was recently appointed as a community member to the board of the San Diego Consortium for Regenerative Medicine. She is a member of the Board of Trustees of California Institute of Technology (Caltech), where she is a member of its Jet Propulsion Lab committee. In addition, she is chairman of the Advisory Board of the California State Summer School for Math and Science (COSMOS). |
