Joining Globalcom in November of 1999, Mr. McCarty is responsible for Globalcom’s legal, regulatory, and real estate functions. Those responsibilities include general business and corporate matters; the planning, assessment and negotiation of network interconnection agreements, physical and virtual collocation arrangements, wholesale carrier agreements and other matters particular to the telecommunications industry; as well as, the direction of corporate resources to address contract negotiations, employment issues, litigation and management of outside legal counsel. Mr. McCarty currently serves on the Board of Directors for COMPTEL, the leading national industry association representing communications service providers and their supplier partners, and currently serves as the Chairman of the Strategy & Policy Committee of the Board of Directors. Mr. McCarty is also the Vice President of the Illinois Association of Competitive Telephone Companies ("IACT"), a member of the Federal Communications Bar Association and the American Bar Association. Mr. McCarty was appointed and currently serves as a Member of the Public Utilities & Transportation Law Section Council of the Illinois State Bar Association. Mr. McCarty also has extensive experience in complex litigation and general corporate legal matters. Prior to joining Globalcom Inc., Mr. McCarty was employed by Bollinger, Ruberry & Garvey in its litigation and appellate groups where he represented large corporations, professional corporations and individuals in a variety of commercial and civil litigation matters and was responsible for all facets of representation. |
