Gary Wells provides strategic media relations and global communications counsel to top executives of leading corporations and institutions.
Mr. Wells continues to broaden Dix & Eaton’s full range of global capabilities as the firm serves client organizations in their international growth in China, India, Russia and other nations and regions of the world. He and the media relations team provide on-site media relations assistance and training whether in Europe or Asia. And in global communications, he and Dix & Eaton also serve as the lead agency for an EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) network of PR firms for a client organization.
Mr. Wells also directs global communications efforts across Dix & Eaton, as the firm frequents such global business and media centers as Beijing, London, New York, Moscow, Hong Kong, Mumbai, São Paolo, Frankfurt and more. He also has established a network that is unique to Dix & Eaton of communications agencies around the world, with some 75 agencies in 50 nations.
Since joining the firm in 1988, Mr. Wells has grown the media relations practice from a one-person effort to a 10-member group comprising former journalists as well as professionals with varied business backgrounds. The team works with media around the world, building long-term relationships with some of the most important business, trade and local journalists in key markets in Asia, Europe and more.
This approach regularly results in stories about client organizations in such key media as CNBC, Financial Times, ICIS Chemical Business, BBC.com, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Business Week, EDN, China Chemical Reporter, The Times of London, Asian News International, CNN, Barron’s, Bloomberg, Electronics Business, Managing Intellectual Property (UK), Women’s Wear Daily and many others.
Mr. Wells is a member of the National Press Club, Overseas Press Club of America, National Investor Relations Institute and International Public Relations Association. He is also a past chairman of the International Public Relations Network, and is a member of several advisory boards.
Before joining Dix & Eaton, he was a journalist at daily newspapers in Kansas City, Jacksonville and Cleveland. He shares two Silver Anvils from the Public Relations Society of America. |
