Gary Sams received an Electronics Engineering degree from DeVry University, Dallas campus, in 1977. Upon receiving his degree, Mr. Sams began his career by moving directly into the field of computing and data communications service and repair. He made the move to NTS Communications in 1982 as the fourth employee of the young communications Company, taking care of the communications hardware and related voice facilities. After a diverse career within the Company, Mr. Sams was promoted to Vice President of Operations in 1989. His responsibilities expanded to include overseeing the NCC, Network Engineering and Inventory, transmission, maintenance and inventory of all switching centers and the local and wide-area data networks. In the spring of 1999, Mr. Sams left the operations division in order to concentrate on the data and billing services as the vice president of information services. He was responsible for Internet data services, billing services and the local and wide-area data networks. After overseeing the successful completion of the long-running project to convert the billing system to a new OSS billing platform, Mr. Sams agreed to take on a new responsibility and made the move to vice president of service delivery in September 2005. He now is responsible for overseeing the CLEC Network Administration, the Network Control Center, Network Design and Inventory and the CLEC Provisioning and Coordination. |
