Gary Julien was recently appointed as Vice President, Corporate Development at Clarus Corporation overseeing Clarus Corporation’s capital redeployment strategy and execution. From 2003 through 2006, Gary was Vice President, Corporate Development for Armor Holdings, a leading manufacturer and supplier of military vehicles, armored vehicles and safety and survivability products and systems serving aerospace & defense, public safety, homeland security and commercial markets. In this capacity, he oversaw all mergers & acquisitions activity for the company which included the execution of 12 acquisitions involving nearly $1.2 billion of invested capital and 3 divestitures. During his tenure, Armor Holdings grew from approximately $300 million to $2.4 billion in revenue. Prior to joining Armor Holdings, Gary founded Sequent Capital Advisors, Inc. which focused on providing advisory services for the secondary transaction marketplace including the sale of limited partnership interests in private equity and venture capital funds and Fortune 500 corporate venture capital portfolios. From 1998 through 2002, Gary was Director of Corporate Development for Global Crossing Ltd., owner of the largest fiber optic telecommunications network in the world. In this capacity, he led and supported several mergers and acquisitions for the company totaling approximately $16.5 billion of invested capital, as well as managed the company’s portfolio of venture capital investments and limited partnership interests representing 24 investments and over $130 million of invested capital. Gary received an M.B.A. with honors at Columbia Business School and a B.S. from the Newhouse School of Communications at Syracuse University. Gary worked at Bear, Stearns & Co. Inc. in equity research while earning his M.B.A. and began his career at Turner Broadcasting System, Inc.
