Gary has worked on numerous executive searches ranging from venture capital startups, private equity group portfolio companies, and real estate firms to Fortune 500 companies. Prior to joining Sockwell Partners, Gary helped found a fast growing start-up technology company. Gary also has worked as a product manager for Springs Industries, a major home furnishing company. He was also an associate for Bowles Hollowell Conner, a leading southeastern M&A firm. Gary is on two foundation boards and is a member of Leadership Charlotte Class XXIV.

In addition to his private sector experience, Gary served six years as a U.S. Navy Officer in the Nuclear Propulsion Program. A native of Bowie, Maryland, Gary earned his B.A. in economics from Duke University and an MBA from the Harvard University Graduate School of Business Administration.
