Gary Garrett is currently Nu Skin Enterprises’ vice president of corporate administration. His assignments include oversight of the company’s property management, security, and administrative services departments, as well as its non-profit Nu Skin Force for Good Foundation. He is also involved in Nu Skin Enterprises’ community and public relations efforts. Mr. Garrett is active in civic service for the company, and he has worked with various community organizations. Currently, he serves as a board member of the Provo Downtown Business Alliance, the Utah Valley State College President’s Community Council, and the United Way of Utah County. He recently completed a three-year term on the Provo/Orem Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, where he chaired the Community Development Council for all three years. This council provides planning and direction for some of the Chamber’s annual programs, including the Sundance Leadership Conference, and the Senator Reed Smoot and Senator Arthur Watkins Business Awards. He also chaired a task force of Downtown Provo business people charged by the Mayor with exploring ways to strengthen business and retail in the downtown area. This led to the creation by the City Council of the Downtown Improvement District in 2001 and the formation of the Provo Downtown Alliance. During 2001-02, Mr. Garrett served as the volunteer Olympic venue chairman for the Peaks Ice Arena. He helped promote local business support of Olympic volunteer programs and represented city officials and others in venue meetings and work. For three years, he chaired the organization WinterFest in Downtown Provo, which is a series of seasonal activities, including First Night® Provo, designed to promote downtown vitality and interest. Mr. Garrett and his wife Jana also served for two years in the Freedom Festival at Provo organization as event co-chairs for the Freedom Awards Gala. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Brigham Young University and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the BYU Marriott School of Management.
