Gary Flood is executive vice president of Global Account Management for MasterCard International and a member of the company’s Operating Committee. He oversees all of MasterCard’s efforts to support global member institutions, with an emphasis on helping them achieve their business goals. This includes overseeing the Customer Relations staff, whose representatives work directly with members in a variety of bankcard initiatives, including account acquisition, portfolio acquisition, account retention, portfolio profitability, competitive positioning and evaluation, and co-branding and affinity opportunities.
Mr. Flood attained his current position in March 1997. Since then, his efforts and those of his team have contributed to significant increases in member and partner satisfaction with MasterCard programs, volume growth, and volume share.
Earlier at MasterCard, Mr. Flood was for four years senior vice president of Consumer Card Product Management and Development, where he directed all consumer credit programs in the United States. He developed the company’s premium card platform; initiated programs in secured, college, and Hispanic segments; and developed and managed enhancement support and services for credit products. Mr. Flood joined MasterCard in 1986 as a regional marketing director. Before joining MasterCard, he was national sales manager for Citicorp’s Merchant Business.
