Gary Barton is a senior managing director in FTI’s Corporate Finance practice and is based in Houston. Mr. Barton specializes in assisting debtors, creditors and trustees with turnarounds, restructurings, bankruptcies and trusteeships in a variety of industries. He has been involved in a number of financial and operational restructurings as well as other transactions, including receiverships, asset sales and troubled company debt and equity due diligence.
Mr. Barton’s experience includes on-site management of debtor operations; crisis management; formulation and implementation of turnaround strategies; financial statement projections; cash flow projections; debtor negotiation strategies and debtor presentations to lenders; negotiation of waivers, amendments and new credit agreements; diagnostic review of debtor operations, including multiunit locations; financial analysis; asset valuation, offering memorandum preparation, negotiation and coordination of the sale of individual assets, business segments and complete operating organizations; cost realignment strategies; maintenance of corporate/trust books and records; preparation of financial reports filed with the court; development of debtor cash management and reporting systems; and development of debtor accounts payable procedures and reporting systems.
Mr. Barton’s extensive engagement list includes Enron Corp., Orion Refining Corporation, Tesoro Petroleum Corp., Westlake Chemical Corporation, Premcor Refining Group Inc., Waste Management Inc., FFSC, Inc. (Fitz and Floyd), Aviall Inc., APS Inc. (Big A Auto Parts), Ruff Hewn, Inc. and Brothers Gourmet Coffees, Inc.
Prior to joining FTI, Mr. Barton was a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers in the Financial Advisory Services group.
Mr. Barton holds an M.B.A. in finance and a B.S. in construction management from Texas A&M University. He is a member of the Turnaround Management Association, the Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors and the American Bankruptcy Institute. |
