Gary W. Watson is the co-inventor of zNose and currently serves as the Vice President of Engineering Mr. Watson supervises EST's technical personnel in the design and manufacture of the Company's line of equipment. This has included the development of the Model 7100 Fast Gas Analyzer the Company's proprietary software package MicroSense and other support instrumentation to enhance the usefulness of the Company's line of sensing systems. Mr. Watson's expertise in gas chromatography began with the design of the XonTech Inc. GC-710 Portable Explosive Detector and the Model GC-712 Walk Through Portal explosive detection system. These products were instrumental in expanding the state of the art in explosive detection and established Mr. Watson as an expert in the field. Mr. Watson's experience includes the design of visible and infrared gas and chemical lasers for the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency while at Xonics Inc. He was the Project Engineer in charge of equipment fabrication data acquisition and data analysis. Mr. Watson joined Amerasia Technology Inc. (the General Partner of Electronic Sensor Technology) in 1988 and directed the Company's research in adapting gas chromatographic techniques with surface acoustic wave (SAW) detectors. Mr. Watson’s efforts as co-inventor of the zNose resulted in several patents and the Model 4100 detection system. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in applied mechanics from the University of Southern California in 1972. He has almost 30 years experience in the applied research and design of highly technical instruments and instrumentation. |
