He began his career at DuPont in 1979 at the Grasselli site in Linden, N.J., in a series of technical and operations assignments.
From 1982 - 1991, he worked in a series of technical service, sales, marketing and new business development roles in a variety of industrial and specialty businesses. In 1992, he transferred to Augsburg, Germany, to lead a global alliance with Ciba in the area of textile repellants. In 1995, he transferred to Hong Kong as regional marketing director for specialty chemicals and director - China Initiatives. In 1997, he returned to the United States and assumed global responsibility for the cyanides business. In February 2001, he assumed leadership for the soy polymer business in DuPont Protein Technologies. He was named global business director - specialty and performance businesses in February 2003. He was named to his current position in February 2007.
