Gary Ervin Biography :

Gary W. Ervin is corporate vice president and president-elect of Northrop Grumman's Integrated Systems sector, a premier aerospace and defense systems integration organization. Ervin also serves on the company's corporate policy council. He will become president of Northrop Grumman’s Integrated Systems sector on January 1, 2008.

Headquartered in El Segundo, Calif., the sector features the company's large-scale system integration capabilities, which are focused on providing customers a new dynamic for the precise execution of national security operations. The sector draws upon the experience and knowledge of its nearly 13,500 employees to provide innovative solutions for the national security needs of the United States Government and its international alliances. Integrated Systems has major operations in El Segundo, Palmdale and Rancho Bernardo, Calif.; Bethpage, NY; and Melbourne and St. Augustine, Fla.

Previously Ervin served as vice president, Western Region, for Northrop Grumman's Integrated Systems sector. The Western Region oversees programs in tactical and long-range strike aircraft systems and unmanned systems. These programs include the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, RQ-4 Global Hawk unmanned reconnaissance system, B-2 stealth bomber, F/A-18 Super Hornet strike fighter, Hunter unmanned system, X-47 Unmanned Combat Air System, RQ-8 Fire Scout vertical takeoff and landing tactical UAV, Multi-Platform Radar Technology Insertion Program and aerial targets. The Western Region also works on a number of advanced development programs to offer innovative future solutions that meet emerging customer needs.

Prior to leading Northrop Grumman’s Integrated Systems sector, Western Region, Ervin was sector vice president for Air Combat Systems (ACS), a business area of Integrated Systems that was combined with the sector's Unmanned Systems organization to form the Western Region unit.

Ervin joined Northrop Grumman in 2001 as vice president and deputy of ACS and was promoted to sector vice president in January 2002. Previously, he served for 22 years with the Lockheed Martin Corporation, most recently as vice president-Advanced Development Programs. He joined Lockheed Martin after graduating from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), with a bachelor's degree in mathematics systems science.
