Dr Tennyson is board-certified in anatomic and clinical pathology. He received his doctorate in experimental pathology and his medical degree from the State University of New York, Stony Brook. Dr Tennyson completed his residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at the North Carolina Memorial Hospital in Chapel Hill and a fellowship in surgical and gastrointestinal pathology at the University of Pennsylvania. After a visiting fellowship in hepatopathology with Professor Peter Scheuer at the Royal Free Hospital in London, Dr Tennyson assumed positions as assistant professor and head of the liver pathology unit at the University of Alabama. He was then an associate professor and director of anatomic pathology at the University of Florida Medical Center in Jacksonville before joining the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville. He has lectured and authored articles on in vitro drug testing for cancers, molecular diagnostics, inflammatory bowel disease, hepatitis, and liver transplantation. |
