Gary Crane is the Director of Information Technology Initiatives for the Southeastern Universities Research Association (SURA). He is leading the development of the SURA Crossroads Initiative, a SURA project with the goal of improving the SURA memberships’ access to advanced optical networking infrastructure.
Prior to joining SURA, Mr. Crane held positions at Newbridge Networks and NYSERNet where he was the principal architect of a statewide advanced academic network program serving higher education in New York State. He has been the Principal Investigator for successful National Science Foundation grants supporting regional network infrastructure development and wireless Internet connectivity trials for K-12 schools in Rochester, NY.
Mr. Crane holds B.S.E.E. and M.B.A. degrees from the University of Rochester and telecommutes in his work with SURA from Rochester, New York. |
