Mr. Hawkett joined Akal Security Inc. in November 2005. He has extensive experience in the security industry having worked as Vice President for one of the largest security companies in the country.
After graduating from Brooklands College in Surrey, England, Mr. Hawkett joined Scotland Yard in London, England in 1980 as a uniformed constable before being promoted to Detective in 1982 and was involved in a wide variety of operational and investigative departments and task forces. In 1991, he served as a Detective on the National Criminal Intelligence Service (NCIS).
Mr. Hawkett moved to the United States in 1993 and joined Burns International Security Services as an Account Manager. In November of 2001, Gary brought his experience, expertise and skills to Allied Barton Security Services as District Manager of the Elmsford Office responsible for Westchester County, NY District. In June 2002 Gary was transferred as District Manager to oversee Allied Security’s New Jersey operation based in Lyndhurst NJ. As Allied Security expanded to acquire Professional Security Bureau in 2004, Gary was promoted to Vice President, Operations for New Jersey.
Twenty-Five years successful contract security operations management and administration, corporate security/safety, asset protection/loss prevention, law enforcement and corporate investigations experience. Extensive specialized training in personnel protection, counter terrorism, criminal intelligence, security and safety operations, asset protection/loss prevention including budget development and monitoring. |
