Gary Ellmer joined ATA in September 2006 as Senior Vice President-Operations & General Manager-Charter. He has direct responsibility for flight and technical operations as well as ATA’s Charter business. Charter represents about half of the airlines revenues.
Ellmer has 25 years of extensive and diverse airline management experience and joined ATA from American Eagle - where he was the Vice President of Business Development. He has held many senior leadership positions in the aviation industry - including President/COO of Executive Airlines a division of American Eagle Airlines, President/COO of Business Express Airlines, Vice President, Maintenance and Engineering at WestAir Commuter Airlines/Mesa Airlines.
Prior to entering the commercial airline industry, in 1980, Ellmer spent seven years in the U. S. Marine Corps as a mechanic and crewmember aboard UH-1 helicopters and as a flight engineer and instructor on KC-130 Tanker Aircraft. Elmer has a degree in Aeronautics from Long Beach City College. |
