Gary D. Friedman has a broad-based transactional, commercial, and counseling practice. He represents investment funds and other investors in private equity investments; management groups and investment groups in connection with organizational and financing transactions; and other companies in acquisition, financing, and commercial transactions. Mr. Friedman has represented a private equity fund in the acquisition of a water company in the People's Republic of China; a privately-held publishing company in the sale of the company to a consortium of private equity funds; and the principals of a boutique investment bank in negotiations for a management buyout of the bank.
Mr. Friedman graduated magna cum laude from Yale College in 1973 and with honors from Columbia Law School in 1976. After graduating from law school, he clerked for The Honorable Pierre N. Leval, then of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, and practiced at Debevoise & Plimpton.
