Since joining Mannatech's R&D Laboratory in 2003, Dr. Gabriela Luta has been involved in developing and validating assays for dietary supplements. Dr. Luta was also instrumental in the design and implementation of a clinical study that monitored biomarkers of oxidative stress in humans, a project important in the development of Ambrotose AO. Gabriela Luta earned a BS in Chemistry in 1980 from the University of Bucharest, Romania, and then earned additional graduate degrees in teaching Chemistry at the Al. I. Cuza University, Iasi, Romania. For many years, she taught high school chemistry and coordinated and collaborated on research with environmental organizations. Dr. Luta earned an MS in Chemistry in 2001 from the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) performing research on conductive polymers. Dr. Luta has worked on research projects in organic synthesis, bio-analytical chemistry, and molecular biology during a PhD program that prepares specialists for industrial problem solving. She completed her PhD at UTD in 2003, researching the expression and characterization of an enzyme believed to be linked to Alzheimer’s disease and other neurodegenerative diseases. |
