Gabe Bresler is a senior managing director in FTI’s Corporate Finance practice and is based in Boston. Mr. Bresler specializes in providing strategic and financial planning, process improvement, merger integration planning and effectuation, cost allocation studies, troubled company evaluation and restructurings, interim management services, mergers and acquisitions, business valuations, and dispute advisory assistance. With more than 20 years experience, Mr. Bresler has provided advice to a wide-range of clients in the telecommunications and media, energy, distribution, and manufacturing industries.
Mr. Bresler’s company advisory work has included leading the development and implementation of operational plans, process improvement, financial management planning, product road-mapping and customer segmentation. He has served as financial advisor to various parties in transactions, including due diligence on behalf of financing sources, identification of acquisition targets, analysis of financial and operational synergies in potential mergers, and preparation and negotiation of bids and acquisition agreements for both distressed and healthy investments.
Mr. Bresler has led and managed a broad array of cases for clients in formal bankruptcy proceedings and out-of-court restructurings (both creditors and debtors), leading the efforts of company and creditor groups in the development of value-maximization strategies. Related services have included development and review of business plans, management of operations and network closures, valuations, competitive benchmarking, distressed asset and business marketing and sales, renegotiation of credit facilities, and development and implementation of cash management programs.
Some of Mr. Bresler’s clients have included stakeholders of Global Crossing, Genuity, Exodus Communications, CTC, KMC, ATX, Xspedius, Qwest, Winstar, Reach Communications, National Grid, Nextel, and Motorola. He has worked extensively overseas and has significant experience working in Latin America and the Caribbean, where he led assignments for some of the region’s key companies, including CTI and Nextel in Argentina; Embratel, BCP, Telecom Brasil and Petrobras in Brazil; AES Energy in several countries; Bell South in Colombia; Telereunion and Iusacell in Mexico; and Tricom in the Dominican Republic, where he is currently leading the company’s restructuring work. Mr. Bresler has also been engaged in litigation support by the senior management of one of the region’s largest companies. He has also led the evaluation of investment projects worldwide, including infrastructure projects in the Middle East and thermal and co-generation projects in Brazil.
Prior to joining FTI in 2002, Mr. Bresler was a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). In that capacity he led numerous companies in the implementation of strategic transformations and reorganizations. Before that, he was a vice president at MAC Group/Gemini Consulting in Boston.
Mr. Bresler has given presentations and speeches at conferences across the United States. His published works include Capacity Trading: Where art thou? (Infocom Review) and Corporate Restructuring in Latin America The perfect storm (Business Recovery).
