Mr. Chao is a member of the Firm’s Real Estate Department. His practice is focused on all aspects of commercial real estate transactions, including acquisition, disposition, financing, and leasing of commercial properties. He assists and advises real estate investment trusts (REITs), life insurance companies, and other institutional clients and public companies on real estate matters. Mr. Chao’s clients include development companies, investors, owners, and retail stores. Mr. Chao also serves as outside general counsel to a number of his clients.
PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES
Mr. Chao is a member of the Real Property Section of the California State Bar, and the Bar Association of San Francisco. He is also a member of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP), the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International, the Belden Club Real Estate Organization, and the San Francisco Real Estate Exchange (SFREX). Mr. Chao is also actively involved with the Bay Area Mortgage Association (BAMA).
EDUCATION
Mr. Chao received his B.A. in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley in 1998, where he graduated with distinction, and his J.D. from the UC Davis - Martin Luther King, Jr. School of Law in 2001. |
