Mr. Ferreira joined the Bank in 1958 and, in 1976, up to 1990, was Executive Officer and Vice Chairman of Unibanco’s Board of Directors. Previously, in 1983, Mr. Ferreira was elected member of the Board of Directors, becoming Vice President of such board in 1997. On April 30, 2004, Mr. Ferreira was elected Chairman of Unibanco’s Audit Committee and continued to serve as a member of the Board of Directors. He also serves as Vice Chairman of Unibanco AIG Seguros’ Board of Directors; as Board Member of Unibanco Holdings and as Chairman of the National Confederation of the Financing Institutions (Confederação Nacional das Instituições Financeiras - CNF) and of the Brazilian Credit Guarantee Fund (Fundo Garantidor de Créditos FGC). Mr. Ferreira served as Executive Officer of the Brazilian Federation of Banks (FEBRABAN) from 1986 to 2001, and as President of FEBRABAN’s from 2001 to 2004. He holds a Law degree from the University of São Paulo (Universidade de São Paulo - USP).
